The Department of European Languages participated in the regional meeting of heads of French language and literature departments in the Middle East, organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in collaboration with French Institutes, held in Beirut from April 9 to 11, 2025.
The department was represented by its head, Dr. Ahmad Al-Btoush, and Dr. Laith Ibrahim, the university’s liaison with the AUF, who delivered a presentation on employment opportunities for French language graduates and collaboration with various professional sectors in the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The department also took part in the Choix Goncourt de l’Orient literary prize, organized by the AUF in partnership with the Goncourt Academy. Dr. Laith supervised the preparation of the participating students. Imad Al-Johari represented the university at the final deliberation day in Beirut, alongside student jury members Aya Abu Fardeh, Dareen Al-Qudah, Mayar Tambolat, and Mohammad Al-Muharram.
This participation reflects Mutah University’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in the Francophone academic space and supporting its students' involvement in international academic and cultural activities.
