A group of students from the Department of European Languages at Mutah University took part in a literary event held in Amman, as part of the Choix Goncourt de l’Orient competition. Organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), the event brought together students from several Jordanian universities.
The gathering offered a platform for students to discuss the shortlisted books, explore the role of literature in language learning, and reflect on its impact on everyday life. The event also featured an engaging conversation with author Salma Mougrabi, who shared insights into her literary career, her body of work, and her thoughts on the books in the competition.
This participation was coordinated by Dr. Laith Ibrahim and is part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to fostering cultural and academic exchange. Through such initiatives, students are able to deepen their understanding of world literature while sharpening their language and critical thinking skills.
