In the Translation Contest 2024 held among four Jordanian universities, Mutah University secured first place, represented by students Balqees Al-Wekhyan and Malak Zaben, under the supervision of Dr. Lubna Abdul-Hadi. Fatima Mawajdeh also stood out in the Extended Translation Project in the Department of Translation, under the guidance of Dr. Nader Albkower, with her creative design of the project Al-Karak Puzzle. In the field of audiovisual translation, Roa’a Wajih excelled by subtitling the short film Bird Trap, which won Best Short Film at the 14th Luxor African Film Festival. Students Emad Talal Fuad Aljohari, Mohammad Nayef Ali Mehrem, Dareen Abdelmo’ti, Muneer Al-Qadi, Mayar Mohammad Ahmad Basher Tombolat, and Aya Mahmoud Ismail Abu Fardeh participated in evaluating and selecting novels for the Choix Goncourt de l’Orient prize, supervised by Dr. Laith Ibrahim from the Department of European Languages. In cultural and social activities organized by the Department of Arabic Language and Literature under the supervision of Dr. Rabia Al-Majali, several students contributed significantly, including standout participants Ali Alaeddin Sanqrat and Osama Qaid Al-Qatawneh. In community service, students from the Department of English Language and Literature took part in a meaningful outreach activity led by Dr. Abeer Rawashdeh. Among the participants were Sadeen Omar Abu Shaheen, Ghufran Osama Ahmad Al-Akhras, Uliana Hussein Dakhil Al-Jamayeen, and Tayba Moawiya Ahmad Al-Mubaydeen. In a proud achievement at the national level, Aya Aref Ayad Salman from the English Language and Literature Department won second place in the Dr. Yaqub Nasereddin Award for Free Reading. Additionally, the Mutah Language Lounge, an initiative run by the Faculty of Arts to promote English communication skills, saw active involvement from students Hamzah, Tabarak, Faisel, and Joud, under the supervision of Dr. Lubna Abdul-Hadi.
