​The Department of Translation, in collaboration with the Al-Karak Culture Directorate, and the Forsan Al-Madina Association, organized a cultural event featuring a screening of the film "Arrival" in English. The event took place at the cinema hall of the Al-Karak Culture Directorate.

Dr. Wlla Obeidat from the Department of Archaeology and Tourism, and Vice President of the Forsan Al-Madina Association, spoke about the association’s role and highlighted key initiatives aimed at promoting cultural engagement in the city of Al-Karak.

Following the film screening, a discussion session was held focusing on the role and significance of translation, as well as the relationship between language and thought as portrayed in the film. The session was moderated by Dr. Lubna Abdul-Hadi from the Department of Translation, who emphasized translation as a means of understanding the "other" and as a tool for overcoming conflict.
