Mutah University recently celebrated a major achievem​​​ent, earning first place in the Audiovisual Translation Competition organized by the Language Center at Al-Balqa Applied University, in collaboration with Mutah University, Yarmouk University, and Isra University. 

Launched in September to mark International Translation Day, the competition aimed to highlight the power of translation in bridging cultures and fostering academic exchange. The top honor was shared by Malak Al-Zaban and Balqis Al-Wakhian, students in the Department of Translation at Mutah University, who created and translated an outstanding promotional video showcasing their university. Their translation stood out for its originality and quality, powerfully portraying the identity of Mutah University. 

The award ceremony took place at Princess Alia University College in Amman, attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Al-Balqa Applied University, the Dean of the College, the Director of the Language Center, and members of the judging panel. From Mutah University, Dr. Lubna Abdul-Hadi and Dr. Mohammad Aldalain joined the event, along with a group of supportive students from the department, who came to cheer on their winning classmates.

Winners were recognized with awards and special gifts, presented with t​he support of the Jordanian Translators Association and Nafeesah Sweets, in appreciation of their talent and dedication.

The event also featured an academic seminar, where Dr. Lubna Abdul-Hadi presented a paper on the current landscape of audiovisual translation education in Jordan, offering insights and recommendations for advancing the field in higher education institutions across the country.​
